TokiThis policy explains what Toki ("we") collects when you use the Toki app, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and Google Play's User Data policy.
What we collect
- Account: name, email address and a hashed password.
- Profile: birthdate (we show only your age), gender, who you want to see, dating intent, bio, job, education, height, interests, languages, prompt answers and photos you upload.
- Approximate location: latitude and longitude, used only to show distance and nearby people. Other members see a rounded distance in kilometres, never your exact location.
- Activity: likes, passes, matches, messages, reports, blocks and when you were last active.
- Purchases: the plan you bought, its dates and the Google Play order reference. We never see or store your card or UPI details; Google processes payments.
How we use it
- To run the service: show your profile, suggest people, create matches and deliver messages.
- To keep the community safe: review reports, detect fake or underage profiles and enforce our Terms.
- To provide Premium features you paid for.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who can see what
Other members can see your public profile: first name, age, photos, distance, intent, bio, job, education, height, interests, languages and prompts. Your email, birthdate and exact location are never shown. Messages are visible only to you and your match. Our moderators may review reported content.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that host our servers and storage, Google Play for payments, and authorities when required by law. Providers process data only on our instructions.
Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or on our account deletion page. Deletion permanently removes your profile, photos, likes, matches, messages and our record of your purchases. Google Play keeps its own payment records under Google's privacy policy.
Your rights
You can access and correct your data in the app, withdraw consent by deleting your account, and contact our Grievance Officer with questions or complaints. We respond within 30 days.
Age
Toki is only for people aged 18 or over. We delete accounts we find belong to anyone younger.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Access to member data is limited to staff who need it.
